Venere atmosphere upset from trasformista vortex

ROME - the turbulent atmosphere of Venere rotates rotates thus fastly, with clouds that are moved fastest, for the action of a gigantic vortex that finds near the South Pole and that it changes form continuously. The discovery, published on Science, must to the probe of the Agency Spaces them European (Esa) Venus Express. To collect given and images of the trasformista vortex it has been l " glanced at Italian of Venus Express, the spectrometer Virtis (Visible and InfraRed Thermal Imaging Spectrometer), devised, planned and realized for the Agency It spaces them Italian (Asi) from the National Institute of Astrophysics (Inaf) and from the Selex Galileo (Finmeccanica).
Italy has contributed also to the analysis of the data through the National Institute of Astrophysics (Inaf). In the atmosphere of Venere the clouds move with a speed from record: they complete a complete turn in approximately 4 days, that is 60 times more quickly of the time employed from the solid body of the planet in order to complete a spin. Also the twenty are from record: they can exceed 400 kilometers the hour. The phenomenon, called super-spin, has been a rompicapo for very many time. To resolve the problem the data of Virtis have arrived now: they have demonstrated that over the South Pole of Venere there  a vortex from the diameter of approximately 2.000 kilometers, that it changes form in little hours.
This condition, joined to movements on total scale of all the clouds in the atmosphere of the planet determines a spin of with of the vortex around the pole. The spin center rotates in its turn with a period that is completed in 5-10 days. The vortex transforms in the time assuming forms that can be similar they or 8 but also completely irregular ones, says Giuseppe Pigeons of the Institute of astrophysics spaces them and physical cosmic of the Inaf (Iasf-Inaf), coautore of the article and scientific resposnabile of Virtis.
