Thursday 17/3/2011 - A few years ago we speak of ' NFC (which stands for Near Field Communication ) technology that allows you to use mobile devices to make micro-payments . At the moment this is a feature not widely distributed but the prospects seem rosy, thanks largely to the interest on the part of Google .
The Mountain View company, in fact, has integrated the ' NFC in the new version (2.3 Gingerbread) of its Android operating system and therefore should have every intention to encourage the expansion of technology.
As reported by Bloomberg , Financial Intelligence Agency, Google should launch some pilot projects in major American cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington and New York will be the first). These projects will be carried out in collaboration with VeriFone Systems and Vivotech who undertook to install compatible devices in the shops.
In this way the owners of a mobile phone with NFC technology (such as the Samsung Nexus S) could use in place of their credit card and make payments simply approach a player ad hoc. The time for this to become a standard feature are long, but if Google's experiment is successful, other companies may jump into the project.
